相撲は、神道の儀礼的起源を持つ日本の国技・格闘技である。2人の力士が円形の土俵で相手を押し出すか、足の裏以外で地面を触れさせることを競う。年間6回の本場所(大相撲)が全国で開催される。

English Definition

Japan's national sport, a form of full-contact wrestling with ancient Shinto ceremonial origins. Two wrestlers (rikishi) compete to push each other out of a circular ring (dohyo) or cause the opponent to touch the ground with anything other than the soles of the feet. Six Grand Tournaments (honbasho) are held annually.
