The unequal distribution of resources, opportunities, and power. Brazil has one of the world's highest Gini coefficients — the top 1% earn more than the bottom 50% combined. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's Bolsa Família program (2003) significantly reduced poverty and is studied globally.
