Portugal's Age of Discovery coincided with and contributed to the Renaissance — geographic knowledge expanded (Ptolemy's world map was superseded), and exotic goods, ideas, and cultures flowed into Europe. Camões' 'Os Lusíadas' is Portugal's Renaissance masterpiece.
