Brazil's Paulo Freire (1921–1997) transformed global education philosophy with 'Pedagogy of the Oppressed' (1968) — arguing education must be a two-way 'dialogical' process that develops critical consciousness (conscientização) rather than 'banking' information. His work has influenced education globally, including in India.
