The world's second-largest continent. Africa has 54 countries, 1.4 billion people (projected 2.5 billion by 2050), and extraordinary natural resources. The African Union (AU) — modeled partly on the EU — is Africa's continental governance body. Africa is central to India's foreign policy — India-Africa Forum Summit has been held three times (2008, 2011, 2015). India maintains strong ties with East African Indian diaspora (3 million).
