English Definition

A form of literary art using aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language to evoke emotion and meaning. Classical Chinese poetry has a history of over 3,000 years. The Tang Dynasty (618–907 CE) is regarded as the golden age of Chinese poetry, with masters such as Li Bai, Du Fu, and Wang Wei. Taiwan's literary tradition continues this heritage, with notable modern poets like Yu Guangzhong (余光中) celebrated across the Chinese-speaking world.
