The Chinese art and culture of preparing, presenting, and enjoying tea. Taiwan is one of the world's most celebrated tea-producing regions, famous for oolongs such as Dong Ding (凍頂烏龍) and High Mountain tea (高山茶). Taiwan's tea ceremony tradition — especially the elaborate Gongfu Cha style — is regarded as among the most refined in the world. Taiwan's bubble tea (珍珠奶茶) is a global cultural phenomenon invented in Taichung in the 1980s.
