English Definition

The art of beautiful handwriting, considered one of the highest art forms in China. Chinese calligraphy uses a brush to write characters in five main scripts: seal, clerical, regular, running, and cursive. Great calligraphers like Wang Xizhi (王羲之) are revered as cultural heroes. Calligraphy is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of China.
