Industrialist View

Buy from Supima (US), Peruvian, or Egyptian Giza-86/94 growers. MOQ usually 1 bale (218 kg / 480 lb). Expect 20–35% premium over Upland. Certifications: Supima licence, BCI, GOTS for organic. Spin to 80s–140s count for shirting.

Tailor & Garment-Worker View

Feels cool and silk-smooth. Use size 70/10 or 80/12 needle, 50 wt polyester or cotton thread, 12–14 SPI. Press on steam, never dry high heat; Pima scorches.

Sourcing

US (Arizona, California), Peru (Pima valley), Egypt (Nile delta). Picked by hand for premium grade; machine-picked for mid-grade.

Construction & Use

Long fibres reduce pilling and hairiness — ideal for poplin, voile, sateen, dress shirts.
