Bought as raw silk (denier 20/22, 27/29) or dupion. China supplies 80% (Zhejiang, Jiangsu). India second (Karnataka — Mysore, Kolar). Price per kg US$35–80. Stamp 'Mulberry 100% 6A' for top grade.

Tailor & Garment-Worker View

Slippery — tack with silk pins, use fine 9–11 microtex needle, silk/polyester 60 wt thread, 14–16 SPI, French seam. Never press direct.
