Definition
JavaScript is a high-level, interpreted, dynamic programming language that is the primary language for making web pages interactive and dynamic. Running in browsers and on servers (via Node.js), JavaScript enables DOM manipulation, event handling, asynchronous operations (via Promises and async/await), and communication with APIs. JavaScript is a multi-paradigm language supporting object-oriented, functional, and event-driven programming. Frameworks like React, Vue, and Angular are built on JavaScript.
Example
“JavaScript code attaches a click event listener to a button so that clicking it triggers a function — such as showing a popup or submitting a form — without reloading the page.”
