Example
“A kilometre is the equivalent of roughly 0.62 miles.”
Another example: “Eating that meal is the calorie equivalent of two chocolate bars.”

A neutral noun or adjective for something equal in value, function, or meaning to another ('the metric equivalent', 'a cash equivalent'). Common in comparison, science, and finance. As an adjective, often followed by 'to'.
