Definition

The fundamental rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) has been particularly influential in shaping Latin American constitutions and social movements. Spain's transition from dictatorship to democracy (1975–1982) was a landmark case in human rights and democratic consolidation.
