A large natural elevation of land. Poland's mountains are concentrated in the south — the Tatra Mountains (Tatry), shared with Slovakia, contain Poland's highest peak, Rysy (2,499 m). The Tatra are Central Europe's highest mountains and a major tourist destination. The Sudeten Mountains along the Czech border and the Bieszczady range in the southeast are also significant. Mountain culture (góralska) is a distinctive part of Polish identity.
