The art and science of designing and constructing buildings. Poland's architectural heritage spans Gothic (Malbork Castle — the world's largest brick castle), Renaissance (Krakow's Wawel Royal Castle), Baroque, and Art Nouveau (Lodz's magnificent industrial architecture). Warsaw was systematically destroyed by Nazis in WWII (85% demolished) and rebuilt from rubble — the Old Town is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
