Mendeleev arranged 63 known elements by atomic mass and predicted the existence and properties of yet-undiscovered elements, which were later confirmed. The 101st element, Mendelevium, is named after him. Russia celebrates his contribution to chemistry globally as a symbol of Russian scientific achievement.
