Norse seafarers from Scandinavia who explored, traded, and raided from the 8th to 11th centuries. They established Novgorod and Kievan Rus (founding Russia and Ukraine). Swedish Vikings reached Baghdad. The Viking Age shaped European geography, trade routes, and culture fundamentally.
