(தமிழ்)அகம் என்பது சங்க இலக்கியத்தின் முக்கிய இரு வகைகளில் ஒன்று ஆகும், இது காதல் உணர்வுகளையும் உள்ளக உலகத்தையும் திணை இயற்கை உருவகங்களின் வழி வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது. புறம் என்னும் வெளிக் கவிதை வகையிலிருந்து இது வேறுபடுகிறது.
English Definition
One of the two main genres of classical Tamil Sangam poetry dealing with love, inner emotions, and the subjective world. Contrasted with Puram (exterior/public themes). Akam poems use nature imagery through Tinai (landscapes) to represent emotional states.
