A group of people living in the same area or sharing common interests. Thai community life is organized around Buddhist temples (wat), which serve as social, educational, and spiritual centers. Community-based organizations play important roles in rural development, natural resource management, and social welfare — Thailand's community forest movement is internationally studied.
