English Definition
The fundamental rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled. Thailand's human rights record has faced criticism — restrictions on political dissent, press freedom, and LGBTQ+ rights, as well as stateless hill tribe communities lacking citizenship rights. Thailand was one of the first Asian countries to legally recognize same-sex unions (Civil Partnership Act, 2024).
