Definition
An Islamic religious endowment — property donated by a Muslim for charitable or religious purposes, considered inalienable. In India, the Waqf Act governs waqf properties and the Waqf Board manages them for the benefit of the Muslim community.
Example
“وقف جائیداد مسلمانوں کی فلاح کے لیے وقف کی جاتی ہے۔”
In English: “Waqf property is dedicated for the welfare of Muslims.”
