A key therapeutic technique of Traditional Chinese Medicine involving the insertion of fine needles into specific acupoints on the body to regulate Qi and promote healing. Taiwan has contributed significantly to the scientific study of acupuncture, producing internationally published clinical research. Taiwanese acupuncturists are licensed professionals, and acupuncture treatments are partially covered by the National Health Insurance system.
