A course of action adopted by a government, institution, or individual. Taiwan's major policies include the New Southbound Policy (新南向政策, deepening engagement with ASEAN and South Asia including India), the energy transition policy (shifting to renewables), and the semiconductor industrial policy. Taiwan's cross-strait policy — managing relations with mainland China — is the most complex and consequential policy area for Taiwan's government.
