English Definition
A Chinese philosophical concept meaning the 'supreme ultimate' — the state of infinite and absolute infinity from which yin and yang emerge. In practice, Taijiquan (太极拳) is a soft martial art and meditative movement system practiced by hundreds of millions worldwide for health, longevity, and self-defense. UNESCO inscribed Taijiquan on its Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2020.
