Employee Wellbeing
An employer's holistic approach to supporting employees' physical, mental, and financial health.
Also: employee wellness · employee health and wellbeing
Definition
Employee wellbeing encompasses an organization's commitment to supporting the overall health and flourishing of its employees across physical (health programs, ergonomics), mental (counseling, stress management), financial (financial literacy, savings programs), and social (community, connection) dimensions. A strategic wellbeing approach goes beyond one-off perks to embed wellbeing into the culture, work design, and management practices. Organizations with strong wellbeing programs see lower absenteeism, higher engagement, and better productivity.
Example
“The company's Wellbeing Week featured daily yoga sessions, mental health first aid training for managers, a financial planning webinar, and the launch of an anonymous counseling service accessible 24/7.”
