English Definition
Traditional Chinese painting using ink and watercolors on silk or rice paper. Taiwan's National Palace Museum holds one of the world's greatest collections of classical Chinese painting, including masterpieces from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties brought from mainland China. Contemporary Taiwanese artists continue to explore guohua techniques alongside modern influences.
