Definition
A competency framework is a structured document that defines the specific knowledge, skills, behaviors, and attributes required for employees to perform effectively at various levels and roles within an organization. It serves as a foundation for talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, and succession planning. Competency frameworks typically categorize competencies as core (for all employees), functional (role-specific), and leadership (for managers).
