Definition

Change management is a structured methodology for leading people, teams, and organizations through transitions from a current state to a desired future state, while minimizing disruption and maximizing adoption. It involves understanding the human impact of change, communicating effectively, engaging stakeholders, addressing resistance, and equipping employees with the skills and support to succeed in the new environment. Common frameworks include ADKAR and Kotter's 8-Step Model.

Example

During the ERP implementation, the change management program included a stakeholder engagement strategy, targeted communication plan, and 200 hours of user training to drive adoption across all 1,500 employees.
