Definition
The principle of nations living alongside each other without conflict. China and India co-authored the Panchsheel Agreement (Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence) in 1954, a landmark of post-colonial diplomacy. Though the 1962 war strained relations, Panchsheel remains an important reference point in India-China diplomacy.
