Definition
Psychometric tests are standardized, scientifically validated assessments used in recruitment and development to measure candidates' or employees' cognitive abilities (numerical, verbal, logical reasoning), personality traits, behavioral styles, and aptitudes. When used alongside other selection methods, they improve the predictive validity of hiring decisions and reduce reliance on subjective judgment. Common providers include SHL, Hogan, and CEB.
